Pau Cortes (they/them/elle), Legal Assistant, received their B.A. in English Literature from the University of California, Berkeley in 2022. Before graduating, Pau conducted independent research on the intersection between mass incarceration and trauma. During this time, they worked as a legal intern at UnCommon Law. Pau is committed to disrupting cycles of violence, and they approach their work with an understanding that those who commit harm have often been harmed themselves. They firmly believe in healing-centered accountability and bring their vision for Transformative Justice to their work with clients.
At UnCommon Law, Pau works with Managing Attorney Lilliana Paratore to support clients on their journey home.
