Molly Stafford (she/her), Director of In-Prison Programs, J.D., received her B.A. in Political Science from Pomona College and her J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law.  Admitted to the California State Bar in 2003, Molly practiced law at the AIDS Legal Referral Panel in San Francisco and California Rural Legal Assistance in Marysville. She then spent 12 years at the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, where she became the Assistant Dean of Career Development & External Relations. Most recently, Molly was the Director of the Prison and Reentry Education Program (PREP) through Los Rios Community College District, and is thrilled to continue to support vital programs within California’s prisons in her role at UnCommon Law.

Molly has taught The Legal Profession and Implicit Bias in the Law as an Adjunct Professor at McGeorge School of Law and an Honors Lawyering Program Housing Clinic at Golden Gate University School of Law.  She has served on the National Association of Law Placement’s Gender Non-Binary Support Task Force and has co-written a collection of articles for NALP’s monthly bulletin, including a three-part series entitled “Making Noise: Doing our Part to Dismantle Racism and White Supremacy in the Legal Profession.”  She has presented at national conferences on issues of bias, mentorship, diversity and inclusion, and housing discrimination.  In 2021, Molly was nominated by students and won the University of the Pacific's annual Podesto Award for excellence in student life, mentoring, and counseling. In 2019, she was awarded the UoP Champions of Diversity Award for going above and beyond to support diversity and inclusion at Pacific.
