Christopher Diep (he/him), Legal Assistant, Home After Harm, successfully navigated the Board of Parole Hearing process and earned his freedom in 2023. A true believer of "Freedom Culture", he didn't allow barriers to hinder his growth-mindset. While residing at Soledad State Prison, Chris was an instrumental part in the involvement of a joint UC Santa Cruz/Soledad Prison course called "Transcommunal Cooperation & Peacemaking". Soledad residents and UCSC students studied and discussed writings about nonviolence, racism, toxic masculinity, poverty, peacemaking and social justice.

During his time at Soledad, Chris strived to make a positive impact within the community by being a facilitator, mentor and transformational coach. Some of the groups and organizations he was involved in were Cemanahuac/One World Cultural Group, Defy Ventures, Alternative to Violence Project (AVP), CROP and Kingian Nonviolence. Today, he is a registered Substance Abuse Counselor, CROP Fellow and member of API Rise and Mass Liberation. Chris continues his journey in the restoration of communities.

At UnCommon Law, Chris supports the Home After Harm team as a Legal Assistant to prepare clients in their Board Parole Hearings.
